Hardly a scam, this is one of the most exciting and innovative metaverse/gaming projects avialable

Don’t get me wrong, there is fierce competition coming for this space, and AXS will need to continue its development and aggressive marketing strategies to maintain market share. And knowing their staff and the vision behind the magic of this team, there is no doubt they will be in the “game” for the long haul. At least, that’s our somewhat educated opinion

So, what is Axie Infinity? Let’s take a closer look.

What Is Axie Infinity About?

One thing it’s about is it’s about to go crazy along with all the other metaverse gaming platforms and related projects and tokens. But seriously, Axie is about people having a great experience as they become enraptured in their world. This is a world of Axies that can be bought. sold, created, and…. well, let them explain in their own words.

According to the Axie Infinity Whitepaper, “Axie Infinity is a game universe filled with fascinating creatures, Axies, that players can collect as pets. Players aim to battle, breed, collect, raise, and build kingdoms for their Axies. The universe has a player-owned economy where players can truly own, buy, sell, and trade resources they earn in the game through skilled-gameplay and contributions to the ecosystem.”

Besides simply a gaming experience, AXS seeks to continue their rapid growth as a social media platform driven by a likeminded community. According to the Axie Infinity whitepaper, “While Axie is a fun game, it’s also taken on characteristics of a social network and earning platform due to the strong community and opportunity to truly own resources earned within the games.”

It is always a good idea to read the whitepaper for every cryptocurrency you are interested in. Along with The Sandbox, Decentraland, and a few others, this gaming space is becoming, well as vast was space! There are also projects in the works that could blow these out oft the water, if that is even conceivable. But Axie and the other top metaverse games will be right there with them I’m certain. These projects are such unbelievable experiences and so realistic, it’s hard to project how much better gaming and the metaverse will become in 2022 one beyond.

What Are Axies?

Axies are the creatures that players are allowed to collect, raise, breed, use in battle and to trade. They are reminiscent of Pokemon and Tamagotchi, and they are token-based creatures. Remember, people/players have already spent over $3 Billion on these little creatures and the Axie Infinity experience.

More about the Axies themselves: “Each Axie has 6 body parts as well as a body shape. For each part, an Axie possesses 3 genes. A dominant (D), recessive (R1), and minor recessive gene (R2)”, according to the Axie Infinity team. CoinMarketCap.com got on to further explain that the Axies can take on different forms and that they have more than 500 different body parts available. These parts include, reptile, , plant, bug, beast, bird and aquatic parts. 

It’s easy to see how Axies can be very unique. In come cases this increases their value substantially. And being non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which also refers to their uniqueness, their strengths within the 3v3 battles can be enhanced by each Axie’s specific attributes.

Breeding Axies

As a team wins, their Axies earn them points that can be used to either increase an Axie’s stats or to cause their body parts to evolve. There is also breeding. What? Yep! This is some deep stuff. You may want to study up on genetics before going to far with that! You don’t want an extra arm growing out of the back side of your Axie’s head. Or maybe you do…?

Anyway, a player can breed specific Axies with the goal being to create interesting and potentially beneficial traits. This uniquely endowed Axie can then be used or sold on the Axie Marketplace.

Axie Infinity Shards – $AXS

Axie Infinity Shards ($AXS) are the unique governance token of the AXS ecosystem. AXS holders will be able to claim rewards if they stake their tokens, play the game, and participate in key governance votes, according to the AXS team. Key governance votes will give holders a say in how funds in the Axie Community Treasury are spent.

“We want Axie to become the first game truly owned and operated by the community that plays it. This opens up limitless possibilities but must be approached carefully. In the past, projects have been abandoned and become stagnant using the term “decentralization” as a ruse. The shift to a true Decentralized organization will occur gradually over time.”

Who Are the Founders of Axie Infinity?

The Axie Infinity team seems impressive.

Along with Sky Davis, there were two co-founders: Trung Nguyen and Aleksander Larsen.

Nguyen is currently the CEO of the AXS. He graduated with a BS in computer software engineering, and worked as a software engineer at Anduin Transactions prior to founding Axie Infinity.

Larsen is the COO of the platform. He has been working in blockchain gaming since 2017. He was a gaming competitor and he previously worked as the executive security officer for the Norwegian Government Security Organization. He still sits as Secretary of the Board of Directors at the Blockchain Game Alliance.

Features of Axie Infinity

This project has so many fascinating features that when people ask me “what is Axie Infinity?”, I  can only stop and try to think of how to explain in a concise manner. It’s not easy because AXS is complex in some aspects, but not difficult, if that makes any sense. They’ve somehow mastered the art of complexity for challenge and enjoyment, and simplicity that makes the ride as much fun and easy to learn as possible.

Axies have hundreds of body parts that can be chosen from. Any 6 body parts can be given to and Axie you create. The combinations are exponential, and these unique traits give each Axie a specific utility within the battles and the ecosystem in general.

There are other games that use a breeding technique, but Axie Infinity’s at this point tops them all. Axies can only be bred a total of seven times. This helps control the population (Was Bill Gates involved in this? anyway). There is also a mating hub to help players find the perfect match for their little Axie. The goal is to produce a rare or powerful set of offspring. There is a cost to do this, and the information for that can be found within the Axie Infinity website, whitepaper (listed above), or once a player is in the game, the info is all there.
